John Jordan has been actively involved in law enforcement since 1974, and currently works for a small police dept near Kalamazoo. John is very pro-gun and pro-concealed carry and is a Lifetime Member / Benefactor of the National Rifle Association. He has been a certified firearms instructor with the NRA since about 1986 and teaches the Concealed Pistol Licensing class here in Michigan. John has had a concealed weapons permit in Michigan since he first got into law enforcement, and did not join MCRGO to fight for his rights to carry, he joined to fight for your rights to carry. He has been a member of MCRGO since the early days: His membership number is in the low 600’s. He is serving on his second term as a member of the Board of Directors.

John has been a Michigan Hunter Safety Instructor for the D.N.R. since the early 1980’s, and is the D.N.R. Coordinator for Kalamazoo County. He teaches at the D.N.R. Hunter Safety Academy at Higgins’s Lake. John is also an active scuba diver, and has been with the Kalamazoo County Water Safety & Recovery Emergency Scuba Dive Team since 1978. As a Special Deputy, he served under 3 separate Sheriffs as the team’s Commander, and is currently the Liaison Officer between Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller and the Dive Team. In the event of a drowning, boating accident, car into the water, or an evidence search in Kalamazoo County, you will probably find John on the scene.

With more than 30 years experience as an Ambulance Attendant, he has worked for several ambulance companies since he first got licensed in 1973. He teaches First Aid, CPR, Defensive Driving, and infectious disease prevention for the National Safety Council.
